The Friends of Tryon Creek is seeking qualified environmental educators with a love of working with youth in the outdoors. Work in Oregon’s only urban state park. Located 15 minutes from downtown Portland, Tryon Creek State Natural Area offers 667 acres of beautiful, forested canyon and uplands.
Nature Day Camp provides children with the freedom to explore the natural world on rambling hikes through the woods, excursions along the creek, science experiments and nature-based arts and crafts in our classroom, and games, songs, stories and plays in our outdoor shelter.
Instructors, along with the help of a volunteer high school assistant counselor, are responsible for a small group of 8-10 campers each week during morning hikes and variably sized groups during afternoon activities.
