TSPC Changes Required Tests

  • News Image

At their February 2-3, 2012, meeting, the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices commission voted to eliminate the content area tests required for licensure for administrators, school counselors, school psychologists, and school social workers. While evidence of passing scores on basic skills and civil rights tests will still be required for licensure, it is now up to Oregon’s licensure programs to determine whether they will continue to require the content area tests as a part of their program completion requirements.

As of February 7, 2012, faculty in the Educational Administration, School Counseling, and School Psychology programs at Lewis & Clark have agreed to continue requiring these tests as a part of their initial license programs.
