In 2011, the Teacher Education Department at Lewis & Clark twice received honors for excellence.

The Teacher Education Department was selected as one of only 29 graduate school teacher education programs in the nation where a Woodrow Wilson Scholar can use their $30,000 scholarship to pursue an initial teaching license and masters degree.

The Teacher Education Department was selected as one of only 29 graduate school teacher education programs in the nation where a Woodrow Wilson Scholar can use their $30,000 scholarship to pursue an initial teaching license and masters degree.  Lewis & Clark College joined a group of outstanding colleges and universities that includes Yale, Williams, Wellesley, Wesleyan, University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, University of Chicago, Swarthmore, Princeton, Pomona, Oberlin, Howard, Duke, Dartmouth and Brown.

Also on the national scene, in 2011, the Society of Professors of Education awarded their Richard Wisniewski Award for Excellence in Teacher Education to the Lewis & Clark College Graduate School of Education and Counseling.
