In this workshop we will work together\, individually and in groups\, to explore and share our own relationship to an honored person. \; 0\; Our objective will be to examine the influence this person has had o n our own life's journey and to leave with an understanding of how to ins pire children in our K-12 classrooms (or in our lives) to talk to their e lders\, to honor their own ancestry\, and to learn respect for other peop le's heritage. We will be working both with the writing and artmaking pr ocess. Using torn and cut paper techniques\, we will make a collage "pain ting" depicting key qualities of our chosen ancestor\, discussing in smal l groups and writing as we develop and finish our collage. \; Atten dees should bring an idea of who you would like to "honor" with your expl oration\, as well as any photos or other memorabilia which might help you in the writing/artmaking process.Who should attend?
