The theory and practice of writing are examined through individual demon strations\, reading\, and discussion of current research\, writing\, and sharing in writing response groups. Twenty-five K-12 participants from a cross content areas develop their leadership potential for a variety of r oles\, including local school/district reform efforts that support the ed ucation and success of all of Oregon's diverse student population. Linda is an activist\, leader\, and author for& #160\;Rethinking Schools (http://www.rethinkingschools.org/)\, a national grassroots teacher reform organization\, and author of two books: \; Reading\, Writing and Rising Up \;and \;Teaching for Joy and Just ice.Mark Hansen\, MAT \;has taught 2nd\, 3rd\, and 4th grades in P ortland Public Schools.
