This institute is designed for teachers and administrators engaged in the work of raising achievement for all students through the application of bilingual and culturally responsive pedagogy.
Friday, January 17, 2014, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
Friday will focus on educational leadership in a multilingual society. Policy, programs, and pedagogy will be discussed. Our featured keynoter speakers will be Dr. Kathy Escamilla and Dr. Ramón Zavala.
Saturday, January 18, 2014, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Saturday will focus on teaching and learning in a culturally and linguistically responsive classroom. The keynote address will be Karen Beeman, author of Teaching for Biliteracy: Building Bridges Between Languages. Presenters will include local teachers sharing responsive methods to empower all educators regardless of their linguistic background.
Cost for the two-day conference is $145. $85 for Saturday only. Lunch is provided and
coffee and pastries will be available at registration.
