Cheers to CHIPUKA! is a uniquely collaborative event—an arts & crafts sale, exhibit, and silent auction benefiting the establishment of a community and tutoring center in Arusha, Tanzania.

The event includes a silent auction during which local photography and traditional TingaTinga paintings will be up for bid. There will also be a Tanzanian marketplace full of hhandmade, one-of-a-kind, Tanzanian paintings, photography, leather, and beadwork.

All purchases will fund sponsorship students, cutting-edge resources, and supplemental tutors for the center. Chipuka means “to sprout” in Swahili. It embodies the Chipuka Center’s aim to empower youth, teachers, and community members in Tanzania to gain the academic and life skills needed to thrive.

The Chipuka Center is the brainchild of Lewis & Clark alumna Heather Nabb, M.A.T. ‘11, B.A. ‘08

$10 at the door, with beer/wine/small bites provided. Cash or check only.
