Peninsula School, 8125 N. Emerald Avenue, Portland, OR
During this one-week curriculum camp for teachers of grades K-8, participants will develop engaging curriculum units, which embed expository writing strategies in grade-level content. On the first three mornings, OWP facilitators will demonstrate reading and writing strategies designed to strengthen student writing. Teachers will design lessons which structure learning toward a final writing project. These will include genre-based craft lessons, models, revision and editing strategies.
Teachers are requested to come to the workshop with a design focus – either a theme or a specific unit of study around which you will build lessons.
