Listening to the Body: Yoga Calm for Therapists

Learn how to combine mindfulness, simple yoga practices, and effective counseling techniques in individual and small group therapy sessions. This whole-client approach supports the development of wellness habits and addresses some of the most persistent physical symptoms that accompany anxiety, depression, ADHD, loss, and trauma.
Yoga Calm® activities are effective for a wide range of ages, settings, and populations. Yoga Calm founder Lynea Gillen will offer innovative practices that include social/emotional skill building, breathing techniques and simple yoga poses. Participants will learn self-care techniques to reduce the stress of counseling work. Yoga techniques taught in this workshop are very simple and can be used by anyone, including those who have physical limitations and/or no prior yoga experience.

About the Instructor
Lynea Gillen has been practicing yoga since 1973, is a Registered Yoga Teacher, and has over 30 years of experience as a school teacher and counselor. She is the coauthor of Yoga Calm for Children: Educating Heart, Mind and Body, and had trained over 700 counselors, school teachers, occupational therapist and nurses in Yoga Calm®.
