Graduate School Admissions Application Options

Teacher Education Preservice Programs:

Master of Arts (M.A.T.) in Teaching with Initial Teaching License: Middle-Level/High School

Application Process

Admissions decisions are based on a holistic assessment of an applicant's potential to be a competent, ethical, and compassionate practitioner. Grades, which can be indicators of ability to perform academic work, are required as part of the application. However, they are considered in conjunction with the personal essay, information on relevant service, life experience, letters of reference, and interviews.

Prerequisite

Applicants applying to the M.A.T. with Initial Teaching License: Middle Level/High School program must have prior experience working with children or youth. Learn more about volunteer opportunities in Portland area classrooms.
