Academic Programs

Teaching and counseling are more than just professions—they are callings, built on a commitment to serving others. At Lewis & Clark, trust, integrity, inclusiveness, and respect are as important as the research-based skills we teach. Our students become creative leaders who transform society through education and counseling.

Our programs are unique in offering:

  • Depth: Close relationships with faculty, who are recognized for ongoing service conducted in the field as practitioners and activists.
  • Breadth: Extended internship experiences in which students gain a rich understanding of how inquiry leads to constructive action. When you complete your program at Lewis & Clark, you will leave confident and prepared.
  • Connections and Community: Our programs are designed to build and nurture the relationships that underpin the best teaching and counseling. Here, you will make lifelong connections with other students, our faculty, and—through our extensive internship and practicum programs—the communities you serve. Through our CORE program, opportunities abound for cross-disciplinary dialogue.
  • Flexibility: Our programs for working professionals are designed with the realities of daily life in mind. Attend weekend classes, or finish a continuing license program between evening board meetings and back-to-school nights.
