Teacher Education

Testing Requirements

All teachers in Oregon must pass certain general knowledge tests before they can be licensed to teach.

For Prospective Students

Applicants to a Teacher Education program for early childhood/elementary or middle level/high school are not required to submit test scores for admission. However, admitted students will be required to submit test scores by November 1 of their first year of the program. Because of the rigorous nature of the MAT program, we recommend that you take one of the Basic Skills tests before you begin the program in June.
