School psychology program wins international accreditation
In 2012, the International School Psychology Association (ISPA) recognized Lewis & Clark’s graduate program in school psychology. The program is only the second in the world to receive the organization’s accreditation.
In their report, the ISPA highlighted in particular the variety of teaching methods used by the program and the specific training students are given in family therapy, carried out jointly with students in other programs. The accreditation was announced at ISPA’s summer conference. Ruth Gonzalez, assistant professor of counseling psychology, was in attendance and said of the event, “It was a real thrill to be there, because kudos from peers are so sweet. It was a real honor to see people from all over the world praise the Lewis & Clark school psychology program.”
