Courage to Teach Cycle 2011-2012
October 13-15; January 12-14; April 19-21; July 26-28
Lewis & Clark College is excited to offer this Courage to Teach® cycle, designed especially for pre-k-12 teachers and counselors. In this four-retreat cycle, participants explore the “heart of the teacher” through sharing stories from their own journeys, reflecting on their classroom practice and drawing upon the insights of poets, storytellers and diverse cultural traditions.
The Courage to Teach® program invites teachers to speak honestly about their lives as educators, and to listen and respond to each other with encouragement and compassion. We explicitly seek both novice and experienced teachers, those of whom society demands much but rewards little in terms of encouragement and support. It is our hope within these retreats to create a sustaining community for new teachers and the veteran educators who journey beside them in our schools.
This program is currently in session. Interested in joining the 2012-13 cycle? Check out our upcoming sampler weekend.
